The Blood Bowl community has been shaken in recent days by a situation that not even the most experienced goblin referee could have foreseen. The NAF, the organization responsible for supporting and organizing the global competitive scene, is going through a critical moment in its leadership, with internal disputes, accusations, and more dirty play than a scrum between Dwarves and Skaven.
A “Turnover” at the Top
At the center of the chaos is the ongoing process to remove Shirokov as president of the NAF. According to the committee, the move has been initiated due to an alleged lack of communication and leadership, with mentions of unattended meetings and questionable management. However, Shirokov himself argues that he has been actively working on the organization’s development and that this attempt to remove him is more of a political fumble than a legitimate decision.
Like a classic match in the Chaos League, the versions of events are contradictory, and each side claims to have the truth in their hands. The big question among the spectators is clear: will there be a comeback, or will the president be officially sent off?
Blocking, Tackling, and Counterattacking
Among the accusations thrown around, it has been said that Shirokov attempted to remove the Membership Director without consulting the rest of the board—an unprotected block, if there ever was one. Additionally, there are concerns about a lack of transparency and unilateral decisions that have caused tensions within the committee.
For his part, the president insists that the committee has acted hastily and without following proper procedures. From the outside, the situation looks more like a Goblin team using secret weapons than an orderly management of the league.
The Fans Await the Final Whistle
As expected, the Blood Bowl community has reacted with surprise and, in many cases, humor. Memes about bribed referees, unexpected red cards, and comparisons to the game’s most notorious cheaters have flooded discussions. However, there is also a legitimate concern: how will this affect the future of the NAF and international tournaments?
For now, the game is still in play, and no one can predict the final result. Shirokov remains in his position, but the vote is underway, and anything could happen. The only certainty is that the NAF is in the middle of a “reorganization turn,” and the match is far from over. In the meantime, coaches will continue doing what they do best—rolling dice, adapting to the unexpected, and remembering that, at the end of the day, Blood Bowl has always been a game where chaos is part of the spectacle.
Stay tuned for more news.
Letter sent to the NAF team
Dear NAF Team,
It is with great sadness and disappointment that I am initiating the process to remove Shirokov as NAF president.
Reviewing his year in office, this is what I can say:
- Shirokov nearly broke the NAF Committee by trying to reinstate the Bretonnians without consensus.
- He has not participated in any NAF Committee meetings.
- There has been no interaction with the NAF team, not even during the Eurobowl.
- He has not presented any clear vision or strategy for the organization.
- He has taken credit for work done by other members.
- He has not personally managed a single project.
- He attempted to remove the Membership Director from office without justification.
- He has not participated in discussions regarding the World Cup.
We believe that Shirokov has been unable to dedicate the necessary time and effort to fulfill the role of NAF president. Additionally, the lack of communication and internal tensions within the team have reached a point where action must be taken to ensure the organization’s proper functioning.
All NAF national and regional coordinators will receive information about the process for a closed discussion and a vote on this matter, following the NAF charter.
Although this is a difficult moment, we ask that public debates be avoided until the process has been formally conducted within the NAF forum.
Podcast in Spanish featuring an interview with Shirokov
🔗 Podcast: Interview with Shirokov (ES)
In this interview, Shirokov sets out his version of events and rejects the accusations made against him. He states that, far from being inactive, it was the committee that obstructed his work and refused to collaborate with him. In his view, it was the other members of the management who lacked transparency, took unilateral decisions and tried to concentrate power, accusing him unfairly to cover up their own shortcomings.

Ulvardar (NAF Treasurer) has also decided to share his perspective on the events through a YouTube video. In it, he not only responds to the accusations but also contradicts several claims made by Shirokov, supporting the committee’s position and backing his removal. According to Ulvardar, the committee has acted in accordance with established procedures, and the decision to remove the president is due to a lack of leadership and commitment on his part. To reinforce his version, he has provided evidence that, according to him, will be shared with the community through the NAF representatives in each region.
Beyond the current differences and debates, what truly unites us all is our passion for Blood Bowl. The excitement of every match, the community that has grown over the years, and the competitive spirit are what truly matter.
