The whistle has blown and the transfer window is officially open. As of yesterday, September 26th at 1:00 PM CEST, tickets for the NAF Blood Bowl World Cup Malta 2027 went on sale at nafwc.com — and after some community turbulence over the original pricing structure, the organisers have made their call: one single ticket, one single price. €195 per coach. No tiers, no confusion, no excuses. Nuffle is watching.
The event takes place September 16–19, 2027 at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC), Ta’ Qali — a fully equipped, centrally located venue built for maximum chaos on and off the pitch. Dedicated shuttles from partner hotels will ferry coaches directly to the arena gates, so there’s no excuse for being late to kick-off.
How registration works
Tickets are purchased per squad, not per individual. At the time of purchase, a squad of 6 or 7 coaches must be registered together in a single transaction, which also covers optional guest passes, lunch packages, and any additional extras. Individual player details can be updated later, but the squad itself must be committed at the point of sale. A NAF number is sufficient — no active NAF membership required.
Format & rules
The World Cup uses the Blood Bowl 2025 Edition ruleset with specific tournament modifications: resurrection format (no SPP carries over, no injuries persist between games), squads of 6–7 coaches each running their own roster, with a 7th coach able to substitute between rounds. The final ruleset will be published in Q1 2027.
What’s up for grabs
Squad awards include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, Most Touchdowns, Best Stunty, and Most Casualties (top half of rankings only). Individual awards cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Coach, Best U18, and Best in Race. A painting competition and Best Painted award are also confirmed — details to follow.
The custom World Cup pitch, designed from scratch exclusively for the event, has already been unveiled. Four days of tournament rounds, social events, an opening welcome party, and a closing ceremony round out what promises to be the biggest gathering of coaches since Alicante 2023.
