From the depths of the underground, cackling and reeking of mushrooms, the Night Goblins are coming to Blood Bowl — and they haven’t come alone. Squigs. Lots of Squigs.

Announced at the Big Autumn Preview, the Night Goblins arrive as a full new team kit featuring six Night Goblin Linemen and four brand-new positionals: Cave Squigs, Squig Hoppers, Squig Wranglers, and Squig Herders — two of each included in the box.

The Linemen do what Goblins do best: be deeply annoying. Dodge and Stunty make them slippery, while Taunt and Shadowing mean they’re also oddly hard to shake off. Cave Squigs and Squig Hoppers both have Pogo, giving them surprising mobility for creatures that are essentially bouncing teeth. Squig Herders are there to keep them in line — because without a Herder nearby, Cave Squigs succumb to something ominously called Squig Rage, which sounds like everyone’s problem. The standout positional, however, is the Squig Wrangler: a Strength 7 Ball & Chain player. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, Bob. Everything.

Like all Stunty teams, the Night Goblins reward a coach with patience, skill, and a high tolerance for chaos. Control the madness, and you might just win. Fail to control it, and at least it’ll be entertaining.

Rules for the full team — including the spiteful shroom and bat Squig balls that come with the kit, background on the legendary Eight Peaks Loonatics, and a coaches’ guide — will be found in Spike! Journal Issue 23. More details on Squig Rage, release timing, and the rest of the roster are coming soon.

“Bob, there’s a Squig on the pitch.”
“There are several Squigs on the pitch, Jim.”
“…Is that legal?”
“The referee has been paid not to notice, Jim.”
