The NAF Board of Ethics Launches an Initiative for a New Charter to Foster Transparency and Inclusion

The Blood Bowl community is at a turning point. The NAF Board of Ethics has announced a new initiative to reform the organization’s charter with the goal of fostering transparency and inclusion within the global coaching community. This initiative follows the work done on the Code of Conduct last year, where key issues in the current NAF charter structure were identified.

A Necessary Change

Recent events have made it clear that the current situation is unsustainable and that “returning to normal” is not a viable option. In response, the Board of Ethics has proposed a roadmap for creating an updated charter, ensuring that the process is both efficient and representative of the diversity within the Blood Bowl community.

The Action Plan

The initiative consists of several key steps:

  1. Formation of a Diverse Working Group: In the coming days, experienced coaches will be contacted to participate in this process. The selection will aim to ensure fair representation of different communities.
  2. Transparency in Group Composition: Once the selected coaches confirm their participation, their names will be published for the community to see. Additionally, anyone who has something specific to contribute will be able to apply to participate.
  3. Establishing a Working Procedure: The group will define its methodology and present a more detailed roadmap, which will then be submitted for NAF approval.
  4. Community Consultation and Participation: This core group will act as a liaison with local communities, collecting questions, requirements, and suggestions. Several checkpoints will be established where public feedback can be provided.
  5. Creation of an Initial Draft: With the support of experts, work will begin on a first draft of the new charter, which will be presented periodically along with commentary explaining the process.
  6. Defining the Legal Framework: A subgroup will work on establishing the necessary legal structure to support the new charter.
  7. Translation and Voting: In November, the final document will be translated into multiple languages to ensure that all NAF members can participate in the adoption vote.

An Independent Process

One of the most important aspects of this process is that it will not be dictated by either the NAF Committee or the Board of Ethics. This is an independent initiative aimed at generating structural change based on participation and consensus.

The Board of Ethics recognizes that this task will not be easy. It will require a great deal of work, patience, and commitment from all involved. There will be challenges and disagreements, but this is a crucial step for the growth, stability, and recovery of the Blood Bowl community.

How Can You Get Involved?

If you feel you can add value to the working group or wish to contribute ideas, a contact email will soon be made available for applications and suggestions. Additionally, the NAF will be posting updates on the progress of the process and opportunities for participation in discussions.

This is a key moment for the community. The Board of Ethics relies on the support and patience of coaches around the world to make NAF a more inclusive and transparent organization. Now is the time to build the future of Blood Bowl together!
